Online - Managing information training
An introduction to the management of personal information and University records. This module outlines staff obligations under the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), Public Records Act 1973 (Vic) and the relevant University policy and process.
Privacy and Data Protection Awareness
- An introduction to privacy and data protection at the University, including collecting, using, disclosing and managing personal information.
- An introduction to the fundamentals of good records management and your responsibilities in creating, managing and protecting records.

All University staff are required to complete the managing information module.
New staff are required to complete the module within their probation period or within their first six months of employment.
Duration of the course is approximately 1 hour online.
Refresher training must be completed every 2 years.

Information Awareness Month
Information Awareness Month aims to increase public awareness of information and its place in all aspects of daily life. It is a collaborative venture organised by bodies within the records, archives, library, knowledge, information and data management communities. This May the University will celebrate Information Awareness Month with a lively program of events. The program will explore privacy, business continuity, data security, research data management and records management at the University. All University staff are encouraged to attend to find out more about the role of information in their work.
